Congratulations to Celebrity’s Elizabeth Marami, who became the first Kenyan woman to rise to the ranks of UK Chief Officer Unlimited/Master 3000GT. This significant milestone is a big step towards becoming Captain. With this new title, she can now serve on board a cruise ship as captain. Liz took to Instagram, and shared words of encouragement for all who dream to follow in her footsteps. In her own words: “This is for all the Kenyan girls who were inspired to join the profession after hearing my story. You kept me going! This is your win! We may be late to the party as Kenyan female seafarers, but the world best be ready for one heck of a show.” In our words: Bravo, and three cheers for Liz!
